The Whistler chalet amenity
that books year-round.

A cedar sauna and cold plunge pool isn't just a wellness ritual in Whistler — it's the STR amenity that ranks first in "with sauna" searches, lifts your nightly rate by $60–$220, and books out year-round. Nore Haus builds the combo kit in our Vancouver workshop and installs above-ground in your Whistler, Pemberton, or Sea-to-Sky chalet in five days.

Why Whistler is the highest-ROI market we serve

Cold mountain.
Hot soak. Repeat guests.

A

The "with sauna" filter

On Airbnb and VRBO, "sauna" is one of the highest-converting amenity filters in mountain destinations. A Whistler listing with a cedar sauna and cold plunge typically ranks above comparable listings without one and commands a measurable rate premium — AirDNA pegs the average uplift at 10–20% nightly.

B

Year-round, not just ski season

Bike season, fall colours, summer alpine, ski week, spring corn — Whistler runs a 12-month tourist calendar. A thermal spa books year-round in a way that an outdoor pool simply can't, because guests want it most when it's cold outside.

C

Built for −30°C

Cedar saunas are insulated to operate down to −30°C. The 316L stainless plunge handles freeze-thaw cycles without spalling. The mechanical room is built for cold-climate operation — we've installed in Pemberton cold pockets. No winterizing routine.

Whistler & STR-specific questions

Answers for chalet owners.

Will the spa actually move my Whistler nightly rate?

AirDNA's 2025 STR-amenity data shows mountain destinations with a sauna + cold plunge command a 10–20% nightly rate uplift over comparable listings without. On a $400/night Whistler chalet, that's $40–$80/night uplift before occupancy gains. Our hosts report average +$60–$220 depending on the listing tier and how the amenity is photographed and described.

Can it handle Whistler winters?

Yes. Cedar saunas are insulated to −30°C. The plunge pool's marine-grade 316L stainless is built for freeze-thaw cycles — same alloy used in oceanside architecture. Mechanical components live in an insulated, heat-traced room. We've installed in Emerald Estates and Bayshores.

Is there a permit issue with the RMOW?

The Resort Municipality of Whistler regulates in-ground pools tightly. Above-grade thermal spas typically fall under personal-property rules instead, which usually clears in days. We coordinate directly with the RMOW and flag any DPA, ESA, or HCA overlays before fabrication.

How depreciable is it as STR equipment?

That depends on your tax situation — CRA generally classifies fixed amenities differently from removable ones, and the answer is different for owner-occupied vs. fully-rented chalets. Many of our hosts depreciate the kit over 5–10 years as an STR amenity. Consult your accountant; we can provide the formal commission invoice for tax records.

Can I list my Whistler chalet on Nore Haus Circle on top of Airbnb?

Yes — many of our Whistler hosts run both. Airbnb captures the multi-night stay; Nore Haus Circle captures the local après-ski and 120-minute private-session market on off-nights. Apply to host →
